City Overview The City of Arvada is located just outside of the City of Arvada, and in close proximity to several of Colorado’s main highways: Interstate 70, Interstate 25 and Interstate 76. In addition, Arvada International Airport is within close proximity. Arvada is well known for its many city-supported public parks and trails and its quiet neighborhoods. As with many cities in the Arvada Metro area, many homes and buildings in Arvada offer fantastic views of the Rocky Mountains.In 1850, Arvada was one of the first locations where gold was discovered. One hundred years later, in 1950, Arvada had about 2,300 residents. Now, the population of Arvada is over 100,000 and growing. Arvada Economy Arvada’s economy has many positives working for it: many of the residents of the city possess a high level of education and the city has a very low crime rate. Many residents work at some of the largest employers in the city, including: COBE Cardiovascular, Tarco, Inc. and Sunstrand Fluid Handling.
