City Overview Boulder is a located close to Denver and is the County seat of Boulder County. The city is well known for several reasons including the fact that it is home to the University of Colorado’s main campus. Boulder, which is located adjacent to the Flatiron mountains and off Highway 36, west of the City of Denver, is also famous for being one of America’s leading science and research towns. the Pearl Street mall which is a pedestrian-friendly area in downtown features the city’s courthouse, many shops, boutiques, restaurants, and street entertainment.
