City Overview Broomfield sits in a prime location – between Downtown Denver and Boulder, off Highway 36. A 20 minute drive can get Broomfield residents to either Denver or Boulder, and it’s only a 40 minute drive to Denver International Airport.One of Broomfield’s greatest assets is its Open Space and Trails department which manages the city’s thousands of acres of open space. The city has more than 60 public parks, bike paths, jogging/walking paths, sports fields, playgrounds and tennis courts. It’s also located close to several public golf courses. The city also sponsors many public displays of art, outdoor concerts and many cultural activities which bring the community’s residents together in fun and entertaining settings. Broomfield Economy Broomfield is home to many high-tech, international corporations (such as Sun Microsystems and Level 3 Communications), but also supports many smaller, local businesses. No matter what the size, the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation is dedicated to helping all Broomfield businesses succeed.The Interlocken Business Park is located in Broomfield, which is where many large corporations are headquartered. Also within the city are many places to shop – such as the Flatiron Crossing Mall, Main Street at Flatiron and the Flatiron Marketplace. Not only are these shopping areas high-level and convenient for Broomfield residents, but they also draw individuals from outside of Broomfield. The sales tax that is collected from the stores within these shopping areas goes towards supporting Broomfield’s efforts to improve the city.
