Evergreen is located 30 miles west of Denver, and is home to many residents wanting to live in a beautiful and serene environment but still be close enough to a major metropolitan area for employment and shopping purposes.

The elevation of Evergreen is 7,200 feet and the views of the Rocky Mountains from most homes and buildings in the city are phenomenal. The city covers about 130 square miles and is covered in pine and aspen trees.

The average lifestyle in Evergreen is slow-paced. It’s like mountain living – but it’s close to Denver. Basically, it’s where mountain and city living come together. There are approximately 9,000 residents in Evergreen. There are about 3,500 households, and 2,600 families living there.

The median income for a household in Evergreen is $79,380, the median income for a family is $88,589, the median income for males is $62,917, the median income for females is $37,392. Evergreen is primarily a commuter town and the business sector consists of retail establishments.

Evergreen Real Estate

Evergreen was originally a resort town in the 1920s and 1930s, but in the 1940s, improved roads allowed the area to develop and become a residential area. Smaller homes can be found in Evergreen for as low as $150,000, and the most luxurious estates are priced as high as $3 million.

The city offers many, many outdoor recreational areas including Evergreen Lake which draws locals as well as visitors from other cities. Evergreen is surrounded by acres and acres of open space, part of which is maintained by the Jefferson County Open Space park system.
