City Overview
Louisville is a city that resides in Boulder County. It is located on the west side of the Denver Metro area, between Downtown Denver and Boulder, off Highway 36. With the advancement and expansion of technological corporations over the past two decades, many of which are headquartered in and around Louisville, the city’s population has grown much larger.

The current population of Louisville is approximately 19,000. There are about 7,200 households in the city, and 4,950 families.

Louisville is composed of both older and newer subdivisions. The older area has a historic downtown, residential areas, stores, restaurants and a historical museum. There are also newer neighborhoods that were built in the 1990s and 2000s.

There are several large businesses and corporations that are located in Louisville. Three of the largest employers are Sun Microsystems, which employs 2,000 people, Avista Adventist Hospital, which employs 1,050 people, and McKesson HBOC, which employs 400 people.
